Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Effect of convective outer layers modeling on non-adiabatic seismic observables of delta Scuti stars

open access: yes, 2007
The identification of pulsation modes in delta Scuti stars is mandatory to constrain the theoretical stellar models. The non-adiabatic observables used in the photometric identification methods depend, however,on convection modeling in the external ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

3D-simulation of the Outer Convection-zone of an A-star

open access: yes, 2004
The convection code of Nordlund & Stein has been used to evaluate the 3D, radiation-coupled convection in a stellar atmosphere with Teff=7300K, logg=4.3 and [Fe/H]=0.0, corresponding to a main-sequence A9-star.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Magnetic pressure support and accretion disk spectra

open access: yes, 2006
Stellar atmosphere models of ionized accretion disks have generally neglected the contribution of magnetic fields to the vertical hydrostatic support, although magnetic fields are widely believed to play a critical role in the transport of angular ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Constraints on Quaoar’s Rings and Atmosphere from JWST/NIRCam Observations of a Stellar Occultation

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Observations of stellar occultations have revealed that small bodies are capable of hosting ring systems. The trans-Neptunian object Quaoar is the host of an enigmatic ring system, with two rings located well outside the Roche limit. To better understand
