The treatment of mixing in core helium burning models - I. Implications for asteroseismology
The detection of mixed oscillation modes offers a unique insight into the internal structure of core helium burning (CHeB) stars. The stellar structure during CHeB is very uncertain because the growth of the convective core, and/or the development of a ...

A green, thermoreversible self‐assembly strategy yields a multifunctional and recyclable supramolecular nanofibrous membrane. Graphene oxide (GO) nanosheet acts as a heterogeneous nucleation‐templating agent, simultaneously modulating the supramolecular crystal packing while tailoring the nanofibrous architecture for elite performance.

Numerical simulations of stellar convective dynamos. II - Field propagation in the convection zone
We present numerical simulations of nonlinear, three-dimensional, time-dependent, giant-cell stellar convection and magnetic field generation. The velocity, magnetic field, and thermodynamic variables satisfy the anelastic magnetohydrodynamic equations for a stratified, rotating, spherical shell of ionized gas.

Graphene‐skinned alumina fiber (GAF) is a new composite with graphene conformally grown on individual alumina fibers via chemical vapor deposition (CVD). GAF's dynamic, continuous and scalable production is achieved by using a home‐made roll‐to‐roll (RTR) CVD system featuring integrated degumming and growth chambers. GAF possesses tunable conductivity,

A volcano‐inspired dual‐carbon aerogel featuring hierarchical conduits and an outer carbon‐fiber shell directs rapid water transport, confines heat, and enables directional salt migration. Radial temperature gradients in the conical structure trigger Marangoni‐driven edge‐localized salt crystallization while maintaining an unobstructed photothermal ...

Three-component Phase Separation for Ultramassive White Dwarf Models
We investigate phase separation in oxygen-neon (O/Ne) ultramassive white dwarfs (UMWDs). Current stellar evolution codes, such as MESA, only account for ^16 O/ ^20 Ne separation and do not include other minor species.

Meridional circulation from differential rotation in an adiabatically stratified solar/stellar convection zone [PDF]
Meridional circulation in stellar convection zones is not generally well observed, but may be critical for MHD dynamos. Coriolis forces from differential rotation (DR) play a large role in determining what the meridional circulation is. Here we consider whether a stellar DR that is constant on cylinders concentric with the rotation axis can drive a ...

A monolithic manufacturing strategy is presented for photothermal shape memory alloy (SMA) meta‐morphing structures. Using a single‐step UV‐laser process, the mechanical compliance is programmed via kirigami patterning while optical absorbance is simultaneously tuned through surface oxidation.
