Near-Surface Constraints on the Structure of Stellar Convection Zones
1997By simulating the convection in the upper layers of six different stars and matching these simulations to 1D-mixing length models using the same input physics, we have been able to infer the behaviour of the mixing-length parameter, α, as the stellar parameters changes.

Studies on Stellar Models with Partially Degenerate Cores and Outer Convective Zones
Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 1958Abstract Stellar models with partially degenerate isothermal cores and outer convective zones have been investigated taking account of the contribution of the ion pressure in the core. All models have been computed for two different contents of the heavy elements.

Penetrative convection in rotating fluids: A model for the base of stellar convection zones
Geophysical & Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics, 1991Abstract To model penetrative convection at the base of a stellar convection zone we consider two plane parallel, co-rotating Boussinesq layers coupled at their fluid interface. The system is such that the upper layer is unstable to convection while the lower is stable.
