Results of the Childhood Cancer and Leukaemia Group's United Kingdom Relapsed Wilms Tumour Trial
ABSTRACT Background The United Kingdom relapsed Wilms tumour (UKW‐R) trial aimed to improve the historically low survival rates after relapse of Wilms tumour (WT) through a prospective national risk‐stratified protocol. The trial also evaluated efficacy and toxicity of high‐dose melphalan.

SpecDis: Value Added Distance Catalog for 4 Million Stars from DESI Year-1 Data
We present the S pec D is value-added stellar distance catalog accompanying DESI Data Release 1. S pec D is trains a feed-forward neural network (NN) with Gaia parallaxes and gets the distance estimates. To build up an unbiased training sample, we do not

Deep NIR Surveys in the Galactic Plane: A General Overview and the Study of Scutum’s Spiral Arm
Despite the impressive advances in Galactic structure studies, thanks to the large astronomical surveys, there remain several open questions. Although at low distances, optical surveys can bring us important information, the potential of NIR surveys ...

Stellar Distances by the Baade-Wesselink Method [PDF]
Galactic and extragalactic distances to Cepheid variable stars according to a modern realization of the geometric Baade-Wesselink method are presented. Reliable results as accurate as few percent are currently achievable, allowing the cosmic distance scale calibration to be significantly improved with respect to previous calibrations.

ABSTRACT Introduction Adolescent siblings of children with cancer are at elevated risk for psychosocial problems. Unfortunately, various barriers such as limited family time and resources, conflicting schedules, and psychosocial staffing constraints at cancer centers hinder sibling access to support.

The Araucaria project – improving stellar distance indicators [PDF]
AbstractWe present first results of an optical wide field imaging survey of the galaxies NGC 300, NGC 6822, WLM and Phoenix, performed as part of the Araucaria Project, a long-term observational program recently initiated at the Universidad de Concepción. Based on our data, a large number of new Cepheids in these galaxies has been found.

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Solar-like pulsating stars as distance indicators: G-K giants in the CoRoT and Kepler fields
The detection of radial and non-radial solar-like oscillations in thousands of G-K giants with CoRoT and Kepler is paving the road for detailed studies of stellar populations in the Galaxy.

In this paper, a method is presented by which it is possible to determine a distance between the sun and a star as well as a velocity at which the star moves relative to the sun. In order to achieve this, it is sufficient to know three positions of the star and the unit vectors determined by the star and three arbitrarily chosen points that do not lie ...

Clinical Course and Impact of Breaks in Therapy for Children With Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric relapsed or refractory (R/R) solid tumors carry a dismal prognosis, and postrelapse patient experiences are not well described. We present postrelapse outcomes, including number of R/R events and subsequent therapy regimens.
