This study proposes a magnetoelastic strain sensor for highly deformed posture perception. The sensor can maintain stable sensing signal output under significant strain (200%) and at varying stretch rates (ranging from 1000 to 8000 mm min−1). The sensor design is simple and can be applied to soft robots and wearable devices.

Metallicity-dependendent kinematics and morphology of the Milky Way bulge [PDF]
We use N-body chemo-dynamic simulations to study the coupling between morphology, kinematics and metallicity of the bar/bulge region of our Galaxy. We make qualitative comparisons of our results with available observations and find very good agreement ...

Peculiarity of stellar kinematics in the solar vicinity [PDF]
AbstractThe peculiar velocities of nearby stars are studied. We determine the solar velocity components from the radial velocities and proper motions of stars and open clusters. We show that nearby stars are not very suitable for the determination of the solar motion components because of peculiarities in their velocity distribution.

Massive Hypervelocity Runaway Stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud
Since the hypervelocity stars were discovered in the Milky Way, various mechanisms have been proposed to explain these runaway stars. Up to now, however, the dominant ejected mechanism of hypervelocity stars is still unclear.

Kinematics and Dynamics of the Galactic Stellar Halo [PDF]
The structure, kinematics and dynamics of the Galactic stellar halo are reviewed including evidence of substructure in the spatial distribution and kinematics of halo stars. Implications for galaxy formation theory are subsequently discussed; in particular it is argued that the observed kinematics of stars in the outer Galactic halo can be used as an ...

Gas and stellar 2D kinematics in early-type galaxies [PDF]
We have obtained integral field spectroscopy of a small sample of early-type galaxies to study the kinematical coupling between the stellar and gaseous components in their central regions.

FreqD‐LBM simulates the oscillatory flow at the surface of a QCM‐D resonator in the presence of structured adsorbates. It derives shifts of frequency and bandwidth (equivalent to dissipation) on different overtones. Applications include rough surfaces, adsorbed rigid particles, adsorbed viscoelastic particles, spheres floating freely above the surface,
