Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Tipsy pulsation of classical Cepheids – lessons from space photometry
Space photometric data of the Kepler Cepheid, V1154 Cygni, and those of SZ Tauri (MOST photometry) indicate that classical Cepheids are not strictly regular pulsators.

On the question of multimode stellar pulsations [PDF]

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Over the recent years, the Petersen diagram for classical pulsators, Cepheids and RR Lyr stars, populated with a few hundreds of new multiperiodic variables. We review our analyses of the OGLE data, which resulted in a significant extension of the known,

The history and development of nonlinear stellar pulsation codes [PDF]
This review is limited to the history and development of nonlinear stellar pulsation codes and methods. The narrative includes examples of practical interest in the application of these numerical methods to problems in stellar pulsation such as Cepheid ...

The critical frequency in the Stellar pulsation theory [PDF]
AbstractThe standing oscillation in an isothermal semi-infinite plane-parallel atmosphere has a critical frequency. The significance of critical frequency in the stellar pulsation is discussed briefly. The critical period is calculated for the cepheid instability strip.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Starspot Activity without Pulsation in the Binary System KIC 5444392 Revisited
We revisited the short-period (∼1.5 days) binary system KIC 5444392, which shows quasi-period modulated light variations. Previous studies indicated that these variations might be caused by stellar pulsations.

Bifurcation in Hydrodynamic Models of Stellar Pulsation [PDF]
AbstractPhenomena of bifurcation in hydrodynamic stellar models of radial pulsation are reviewed. By changing control parameters of models, we can see qualitatively different pulsation behaviors in hydrodynamic models with transitions due to various types of bifurcation. In weakly dissipative models (classical Cepheids).
