Parameter Study of Hemodynamics Simulation at Internal Carotid Stenosis

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2008
Background and purpose: Stenting is one of the treatment options for carotid artery stenosis. To show the effectiveness of the treatment, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been performed for the last several decades.

3D‐Printed Gastrointestinal Stents: In Vivo Evaluation in a Swine Small Bowel Perforation Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gastrointestinal fistulae and perforations can lead to severe complications including sepsis and patient death. In this work, the efficacy of 3D‐printed gastrointestinal stents composed of poly‐lactic‐acid (PLA) was evaluated in an in vivo swine model.

Transverse Sinus Stenosis Is the Most Sensitive MR Imaging Correlate of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Neuroradiology, 2017
MR imaging and MRV images from 63 patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension and 96 controls were reviewed by using 3 independent procedures. MRV images were graded for the presence and degree of stenosis of the transverse sinus.

Rapid Glass‐Substrate Digital Light 3D Printing Enables Anatomically Accurate Stroke Patient‐Specific Carotid Artery‐on‐Chips for Personalized Thrombosis Investigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid glass‐substrate 3D microfabrication method creates anatomically accurate carotid artery‐on‐a‐chip models from stroke patient scans in 2 h. These miniaturized devices replicate patient‐specific blood vessel geometry and flow patterns, enabling real‐time imaging of clot formation under controlled injury.

Deep learning analysis of left ventricular myocardium in CT angiographic intermediate-degree coronary stenosis improves the diagnostic accuracy for identification of functionally significant stenosis

open access: yesEuropean Radiology, 2018
ObjectivesTo evaluate the added value of deep learning (DL) analysis of the left ventricular myocardium (LVM) in resting coronary CT angiography (CCTA) over determination of coronary degree of stenosis (DS), for identification of patients with ...

NARFL Knockout Triggers Ferroptosis‐Driven Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NARFL is vital for CIA and oxidative stress resistance. NARFL deletion in HPMEC cells, zebrafish, and mice is lethal and rescued by a Ferroptosis inhibitor. NARFL deficiency disrupted its interaction with CIA proteins, decreased aconitase activity, increased IRP1 activity, induced Fe overload, and led to ferroptosis and oxidative stress, resulting in ...
