Reductive degradation of pyrazine-2-carboxylate by a newly isolated Stenotrophomonas sp. HCU1
Biodegradation, 2010A bacterium growing on pyrazine-2-carboxylate broth was isolated, purified and identified as a strain of Stenotrophomonas sp. based on polyphasic taxonomic analyses and designated as strain HCU1. 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain HCU1 showed 98.7% sequence similarity with the type strain of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia belonging to Gammaproteobacteria ...

Degradation of polyvinyl alcohol by a novel bacterial strainStenotrophomonassp. SA21
Environmental Technology, 2017In this study, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-degrading bacteria were screened from oil sludge using PVA as a sole source of carbon in the culture medium. A novel strain, SA21, was obtained and identified as a member of the Stenotrophomonas genus based on the analysis of a partial 16S rDNA nucleotide sequence, morphological and biochemical characteristics ...

An extracellular agarase from marine bacterium Stenotrophomonas sp. NTa was purified to homogeneity. By size exclusion chromatography and SDS-PAGE analysis, the enzyme was determined to be a homodimer with monomeric molecular mass of 89.0 kDa. The optimal temperature and pH of strain NTa agarase were 40 °C and 10.0, respectively.

Complete genome sequence of Stenotrophomonas sp. KCTC 12332, a biotechnological potential bacterium
Journal of Biotechnology, 2017Hydroxy fatty acids are used in various industries due to their availability, and in particular, Stenotrophomonas sp. has been regarded as a potential candidate for biotechnological applications, including biotransformation that hydrate unsaturated fatty acids into their derivatives. Here we complete the genome sequence of Stenotrophomonas sp.

Keratin degradation: a cooperative action of two enzymes from Stenotrophomonas sp.
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2002A novel keratin-degrading bacterium Stenotrophomonas sp. strain D-1, isolated from deer fur, produced two types of extracellular proteins: proteolytic and disulfide bond-reducing. The results on the biochemical properties suggest that this protease belongs to the serine protease, and the disulfide bond-reducing protein could be the disulfide reductase ...
