Computer Art: Color-Stereo Displays
Leonardo, 1969The fundamentals of producing graphic designs by a computer are reviewed. Examples of display techniques are discussed, in particular, printers, plotters and display scopes. A novel system of producing color-stereo displays, with which the operator may interact in real time, is considered in detail and examples of the displays are shown.

Using a Raster Display for Photometric Stereo
Fourth Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision (CRV '07), 2007This paper presents a new controlled lighting apparatus which uses a raster display device as a light source. The setup has the advantage over other alternatives in that it is relatively inexpensive and uses commonly available components. The apparatus is studied through application to shape recovery using photometric stereo.

[Stereo display of MR angiograms].
RoFo : Fortschritte auf dem Gebiete der Rontgenstrahlen und der Nuklearmedizin, 1998To provide methods for stereoscopic visual demonstration from 3D reconstructed MR angiographic images.Stereoscopic viewing can be obtained with pairs of images that are displayed at angles of 15 degrees. Optical devices as stereoscopic binoculars or minor stereoscopes facilitate stereoscopic viewing.

Displaying motion parallax by occlusion detectable stereo
Proceedings 1998 IEEE and ATR Workshop on Computer Vision for Virtual Reality Based Human Communications, 2002We propose a 3D image display system which can present real scenes with realistic motion parallax. In the sensing system, a scene is observed by using a camera matrix. An excellent stereo algorithm SEA which utilizes 3/spl times/3 image matrix recovers the depth information of the scene with the density and the sharpness required for high quality image

Do Stereo Display Deficiencies Affect 3D Pointing?
Extended Abstracts of the 2018 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2018Previous work has documented that limitations of current stereo display systems affect depth perception. We performed an experiment to understand if such stereo display deficiencies affect 3D pointing for targets in front of a screen and close to the user, i.e., in peri-personal space.

A stereo auditory display for visually impaired
2000 TENCON Proceedings. Intelligent Systems and Technologies for the New Millennium (Cat. No.00CH37119), 2002According to information from the World Health Organization (WHO) as of 1990, there are, approximately, 38 million people who are blind. This paper reports the progress of a funded research project to invent Malaysia's very own electronic travel aid (ETA).

Optimal 3D viewing with adaptive stereo displays
Proceedings. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.98CH36146), 2002An optimal projection of stereo images onto an HMD screen is presented, such that the viewer can observe a real-world object or local scene of his/her interest in 3D, with the feeling of desired depth and scaling, under the minimum distortion. Taking the object or local scene of viewer's focal point as that of his/her interest, the proposed 3D viewing ...

Encoding and display with stereo split-ring resonator arrays
Optics Letters, 2017In this Letter, we report on encoding and display based on stereo standing U-shaped resonator (SUSR) arrays. The SUSR serves as a perfect absorber at a structure-dependent frequency when the polarization of incident light is parallel to the bottom rim of the SUSR.

Panoramic stereo representation for immersive projection display system
Proceedings of the 9th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference on Virtual-Reality Continuum and its Applications in Industry, 2010In this paper, the panoramic stereo images are produced from the real environment using a digital camera and a panoramic tripod head. And they are applied to the CAVE system as panoramic stereo background to increase user's immersion. The images for left and right eye are taken and stitched separately for stereo imaging.

The Eyephone: a head-mounted stereo display
SPIE Proceedings, 1990Head mounted stereo displays for virtual environments and computer simulations have been made since 1969. Most of the recent displays have been based on monochrome (black and white) liquid crystal display technology. Color LCD displays have generally not been used due to their lower resolution and color triad structure.
