Volume and surface changes in vero cell and its nucleus after infection with measles virus: a stereological study

open access: yesMicrobiology Research, 2011
Measles virus has no or indistinctive cytopathic effects (CPE) in cell couture system. Employment of some detecting methods like plaque assay or stereologic experiments, as a method of detecting of viral infection in the cells would be applicable.

STEREOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF SHAPE

open access: yesImage Analysis & Stereology, 2011
This paper concerns the problem of making stereological inference about the shape variability in a population of spatial particles. Under rotational invariance the shape variability can be estimated from central planar sections through the particles. A simple, but flexible, parametric model for rotation invariant spatial particles is suggested.

Geometry of iteration stable tessellations: Connection with Poisson hyperplanes

open access: yes, 2014
Since the seminal work by Nagel and Weiss, the iteration stable (STIT) tessellations have attracted considerable interest in stochastic geometry as a natural and flexible, yet analytically tractable model for hierarchical spatial cell-splitting and crack-

Flavonoids of Phoenix dactylifera L. ameliorates mercury-toxicity on the kidney of Wistar rats. A biochemical, morphological and molecular approach

open access: yesPharmacological Research - Modern Chinese Medicine
Introduction: One of the primary target organs of mercury toxicity is the kidney. Inorganic mercury such as mercuric chloride (HgCl2) significantly damages the kidney. Phoenix dactylifera has been documented to possess several pharmacological activities.

Practical application of stereological kidney methods in experimental animal models

open access: yesNefrología (English Edition), 2017
The kidneys are vital organs responsible for excretion, fluid and electrolyte balance and hormone production. The nephrons are the kidney's functional and structural units.
