Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2018
Pediatric ophthalmologists are increasingly expected to promote, preserve, and restore binocular vision.Clinical studies on restoring alignment and stereopsis in the management of amblyopia, esotropia, exotropia, and complex strabismus are reviewed from the perspective of the author's published work and personal experiences.Treatment of amblyopia by ...

Perception, 1982
The contribution of eye dominance to the large individual differences found in the speed of stereoscopic fusion has been examined. The degree of sensory dominance was measured and correlated with the time taken to perceive depth in three random-dot stereograms of varying complexity.

Stereopsis by harmonic analysis
Vision Research, 1979Abstract Stereoscopically viewed vertical gratings whose cycle widths differ by 10% fuse into a single grating rotated in depth. The perceived tilt can be predicted on the basis of a barwise computation of geometrical disparities, or on the basis of a comparison in terms of harmonic content.

CLINICAL ASPECTS OF STEREOPSIS
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1946THE present work was undertaken in an attempt to throw further light on the subject of depth perception as it is related to aviation. A considerable amount has been written on the theoretic and laboratory aspects of this subject, but articles giving clinical analyses of cases have been few. An interesting series of cases was published by Howard in 1919.

Stereopsis with chromatic contours
Vision Research, 1974Abstract In this experiment stereopsis occurred for stimuli defined by chromatic contours. A chromatic contour was defined as a contour formed by a spatial chromatic change with the chromatic components heterochromatically equated using the criterion of a minimally distinct border.

Polarimetric Helmholtz Stereopsis
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine IntelligenceHelmholtz stereopsis (HS) exploits the reciprocity principle of light propagation (i.e., the Helmholtz reciprocity) for 3D reconstruction of surfaces with arbitrary reflectance. In this paper, we present the polarimetric Helmholtz stereopsis (polar-HS), which extends the classical HS by considering the polarization state of light in the reciprocal ...

DISPARITY LIMITS OF STEREOPSIS
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1952THE OLDER visual physiologists, in particular Volkmann, von Helmholtz, 1 Hering, 2 and von Kries and Auerbach, 3 knew that stereoscopic depth perception exists even when the disparities between images in the two eyes are large enough that those images appear double. It is a common experience for observers using the Hering "drop test" to report that the
