Emergent neutrinos from heavy messengers

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Fermionic bound states (mesinos) of messengers can play the role of right-handed neutrinos and due to their heavy masses they can realize the seesaw mechanism providing light and heavy sterile neutrinos.

Probes of Heavy Sterile Neutrinos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
We review probes of heavy sterile neutrinos, focusing on direct experimental searches and neutrinoless double beta decay. Working in a phenomenological parametrization, we emphasize the importance of the nature of sterile neutrinos in interpreting neutrinoless double beta decay searches.

Search for heavy sterile neutrinos in trileptons at the LHC

open access: yesChinese Physics C, 2017
We present a search strategy for both Dirac and Majorana sterile neutrinos from the purely leptonic decays of $W^\pm \to e^\pm e^\pm μ^\mp ν$ and $μ^\pm μ^\pm e^\mp ν$ at the 14 TeV LHC. The discovery and exclusion limits for sterile neutrinos are shown using both the Cut-and-Count (CC) and Multi-Variate Analysis (MVA) methods.

Relativistic and spectator effects in leptogenesis with heavy sterile neutrinos [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Abstract For leptogenesis with heavy sterile neutrinos above the electroweak scale, asymmetries produced at early times (in the relativistic regime) are relevant, if they are protected from washout. This can occur for weak washout or when the asymmetry is partly protected by being transferred to spectator fields.

Heavy Sterile Neutrino in Dark Matter Searches [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Sterile neutrinos are possible dark matter candidates. We examine here possible detection mechanisms, assuming that the neutrino has a mass of about 50 keV and couples to the ordinary neutrino. Even though this neutrino is quite heavy, it is nonrelativistic with a maximum kinetic energy of 0.1 eV.

Signatures of heavy sterile neutrinos at long baseline experiments [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2007
Sterile neutrinos with masses $\sim 0.1$ eV or higher would play an important role in astrophysics and cosmology. We explore possible signatures of such sterile neutrinos at long baseline experiments. We determine the neutrino conversion probabilities analytically in a 4-neutrino framework, including matter effects, treating the sterile mixing angles ...

Neutrinoless double beta decay versus other probes of heavy sterile neutrinos [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Abstract We make a comparative study of the neutrinoless double beta decay constraints on heavy sterile neutrinos versus other direct and indirect constraints from both lepton number conserving and violating processes, as a sensitive probe of the extent of lepton number violation and possible interference effects in the sterile ...

Charged lepton mixing via heavy sterile neutrinos

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2014
Pseudoscalar meson decay leads to an entangled state of charged leptons ($μ,e$) and massive neutrinos. Tracing out the neutrino degrees of freedom leads to a reduced density matrix for the charged leptons whose off-diagonal elements reveal \emph{charged lepton oscillations}.
