Sterile neutrino production at small mixing in the early universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Sterile neutrinos can be produced in the early universe via interactions with their active counterparts. For small active-sterile mixing angles, thermal equilibrium with the standard model plasma is not reached and sterile neutrinos are only produced via flavor oscillations.

Breast cancer risk and ovariectomy, hysterectomy, and tubal sterilization in the women's contraceptive and reproductive experiences study.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Epidemiology, 2011
Removal or impairment of ovaries before menopause may affect a woman's breast cancer risk by altering her cumulative exposure to ovarian hormones. The Women's Contraceptive and Reproductive Experiences Study, a population-based, multicenter case-control ...

Geographical distribution of publications in Human Reproduction and Fertility and Sterility in the 1990s [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 2000
Curious about the geographical distribution of publications in reproductive medicine, we compared the numbers of publications in Human Reproduction (HR) and Fertility and Sterility (F&S). The annual number of publications from the individual countries was obtained by searching the Medline database using the internet provider PubMed.

Fertility impairment in radiotherapy

open access: yesContemporary Oncology, 2016
Infertility as a result of antineoplastic therapy is becoming a very important issue due to the growing incidence of neoplastic diseases. Routinely applied antineoplastic treatments and the illness itself lead to fertility disorders. Therapeutic methods

Sterility in breeding sows as a consequence of reproductive tract diseases

open access: yesVeterinarski glasnik, 2002
In this paper we examined the effects of certain pathological conditions on the sterility of breeding sows. Pathomorphological investigations were performed on 185 reproductive organs. We analyzed the reasons for elimination from local records. The biggest number of sows with pathological changes on reproductive organs were in the group of barren sows,

Cytoplasmic delivery of antibodies through grafting a functional single complementarity‐determining region loop

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We achieved cytoplasmic delivery of non‐cell‐penetrating IgGs by grafting a single functional complementarity‐determining region 1 (CDR1) from the light chain variable region (VL) of the cell‐internalizable 3D8 antibody. The engineered IgG acquired cell‐penetrating ability while maintaining antigen affinity, highlighting CDR1 grafting as a promising ...

MAT heterozygosity and the second sterility barrier in the reproductive isolation of Saccharomyces species [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Genetics, 2020
AbstractThe genetic analysis of large numbers ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae×S. uvarum(“cevarum”) andS. kudriavzevii×S. uvarum(“kudvarum”) hybrids in our previous studies revealed that these species are isolated by a postzygotic double-sterility barrier. We proposed a model in which the first barrier is due to the abruption of the meiotic process by the ...

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.

Semileptonic decays of charmed and beauty baryons with sterile neutrinos in the final state [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.D79:077701,2009, 2008
We obtain tree-level estimates of various differential branching ratios of heavy baryon decays with massive sterile neutrinos $\nu_{x}$ in the final state. Heavy sterile neutrinos can be searched for in heavy baryon decays with missing mass as a signature as well as in fixed target experiments, where heavy baryon decays contribute to sterile neutrino ...

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to
