Overland movement and migration phenology in relation to breeding of Arctic Terns Sterna paradisaea
Ibis, 2020It is often implicitly assumed that seabirds migrate using marine environments, but this assumption is increasingly being challenged by electronic tracking data.

A change in clutch size in the Arctic Tern Sterna paradisaea in the northern Baltic
1992The modal clutch size in Arctic Terns breeding on the southern coast of Finland was observed to differ from that reported in previous studies. In 1989 and 1990, the frequency of 3-egg clutches was 60% and 45%, respectively in one study colony, and 61 % and 54% in another colony.

Nest defence and predator recognition by Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea)
2022In the presented work, I describe the behaviour of Arctic terns (Sterna paradisaea) toward predator species that differ in the threat they represent to them and to their nests. I presented textile dummies of great black-backed gull (Larus marinus), peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), common raven (Corvus corax) and common eider (Somateria mollissima),

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1987
The indices of red blood were determined in nestlings and adults of Plautus alle and adults of Sterna paradisaea. All measured parameters varied significantly, but the amount of Hb per unit area of erythrocytes did not change over the nestling development of P. alle. In adult P. alle, S.
