Review on shear thickening fluid and its applications in vibration reduction

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Shear thickening fluid (STF) is a nano-smart material that exhibits an instantaneous increase in viscosity when subjected to specific external loads. Notably, its viscosity response does not necessitate external energy input, making it widely applicable ...

Glacial Imprints and Marine Overprints: Sediment Architecture and Fjord Evolution in Fiordland, New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Fjords are globally significant sedimentary archives that record the relationship between glacial, tectonic, and marine processes. Fiordland, on the southwest coast of New Zealand, hosts one of the most extensive temperate fjord provinces in the Southern Hemisphere, yet its postglacial evolution has remained poorly constrained.

Study on dynamic and static tensile and puncture-resistant mechanical properties of impregnated STF multi-dimensional structure Kevlar fiber reinforced composites

open access: yesOpen Physics
Shear thickening fluid (STF)-impregnated Kevlar fabric can be used as “Liquid armor” for the protection of weapons and equipment. The concentration of dispersed phase in STF and the fabric structure are important factors that affect the mechanical ...

From Genes to Greens: How Diet, Climate and Phylogeny Shape Freshwater Turtle Microbiotas

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 8, August 2026.
Gut microbiotas of 234 Australian freshwater turtles vary with diet, climate and evolutionary history. Carnivorous turtles hosted richer, distinct microbial communities compared with omnivores, while climate zones shaped phylum‐level patterns. Ecological factors dominated over phylogeny, highlighting the importance of integrating microbiome and dietary

Systemic Antibiotics in the Surgical Treatment of Peri‐Implantitis: Impact on the Salivary Microbiome

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, Volume 53, Issue 8, Page 1265-1277, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To exploratorily compare the shifts in the salivary microbiome composition after administration of two combined systemic antibiotic regimens used in the surgical treatment of peri‐implantitis. Materials and Methods A subset of 27 patients treated surgically for peri‐implantitis with an adjunctive 7‐day course of systemic antibiotics were ...

Equality and Poverty in the STF

open access: yes
Abstract This chapter analyses the case law of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) on poverty and inequality by examining collegiate decisions published from October 1988 to October 2020. It begins by outlining the constitutional framework on equality and poverty, then presents and discusses the main findings of the empirical ...

Estimating Surface Explosion Yield From Single‐Channel Infrasound Signals at Regional Distances With Random‐Forest Regression

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract When detonated on the Earth's surface, large explosions emit distinctive acoustic signatures that propagate over vast distances with relatively low attenuation in the form of infrasound. Infrasound stations hundreds of kilometers from the impulsive source can record the propagated pressure signal, atmospheric conditions permitting.
