STFT computation using pruned FFT algorithms
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1994We show that the discrete short-time Fourier transform with temporal decimation (DSTFT-TD) can be evaluated using a variety of pruned FFT structures. A pruning method we refer to as overlap pruning can be used to eliminate computational overlap between consecutive FFT's for computing slices of the DSTFT-TD.

The short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is extensively used to convert signals from the time-domain into the time–frequency domain. However, the standard STFT has the drawback of having a fixed window size. Recently, we proposed a variant of that transform which fixes the window size in the frequency domain (STFT-FD).

A higher order method for concentrating the STFT
SPIE Proceedings, 2005We present a method for computing the theoretically exact estimate of the instantaneous frequency of a signal from local values of its short time Fourier transform under the assumption that the complex logarithm of the signal is a polynomial in time. We apply the method to the problem of estimating and separating non-stationary components of a multi ...

Multichannel Noise Reduction in the STFT Domain
2015In Chaps. 3 and 4, we exploited the temporal (and spectral) information from a single microphone signal to derive different techniques for noise reduction in the time and STFT domains. In this chapter, we exploit the spatial information available from signals picked up by a determined number of microphones at different positions in the acoustics space ...

Harmonic Analysis Using FFT and STFT
International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, 2014Now a day’s Harmonic distortion has been a significant problem to maintain power quality. It is very essential to analyze of power signal and find different harmonics. Some harmonics in the power signals are harmful to sensitive equipments and also causes to power loss.

Multichannel Signal Enhancement in the STFT Domain
2016In Chapter , we exploited the temporal (and spectral) information from a single sensor signal to derive different variable span (VS) linear filters for noise reduction in the STFT domain. In this chapter, we exploit the spatial information available from signals picked up by a determined number of microphones at different positions in the acoustics ...

The STFT, Sinusoidal Models, and Speech Modification
2008Frequency-domain signal representations are used for a wide variety of applications in speech processing. In this Chapter, we first consider the short-time Fourier transform (STFT), presenting a number of interpretations of the analysis-synthesis process in a consistent mathematical framework.
