Stimulated Raman scattering enhanced by stimulated Brillouin scattering
Optics Letters, 2009A phenomenon of stimulated Raman scattering enhanced by stimulated Brillouin scattering is investigated experimentally. Also, this phenomenon is analyzed based on physical mechanisms. It is shown that the pumping effect of stimulated Brillouin scattering on backstimulated Raman scattering is a commonly existing rule regardless of the experiment ...

Abstract The gain of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is based on the fact that the photon degeneracy of the pump beam (n¯p) and that of the scattering beam (n¯s) can be both >> 1, and therefore the latter can be increased exponentially. The SRS can be generated in both forward and backward directions.

A three-beam femtosecond stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) scheme is formulated and demonstrated to simultaneously induce two different SRS processes associated with Raman-active modes in the same molecule. Two SR gains involving a common pump pulse are coupled and compete: As one of the Stokes beam intensities increases, the other SRS is selectively ...

Continuous-wave stimulated Raman scattering
Optics Letters, 1991We report what is to our knowledge the first observation of continuous-wave stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). Both forward and enhanced backward SRS were observed in liquids, and the large spectral frequency shift between pump and probe makes signal detection easy.
