Single-pulse stimulated Raman scattering spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2011
We demonstrate the acquisition of stimulated Raman scattering spectra with the use of a single femtosecond pulse. High resolution vibrational spectra are obtained by shifting the phase of a narrow band of frequencies in the broadband input pulse spectrum, using spectral shaping.

Switchable stimulated Raman scattering microscopy with photochromic vibrational probes

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Probes with reversible fluorescence are useful in super-resolution microscopy, but lack sufficient chemical specificity. Here, the authors engineer alkyne tagged diarylethene to realize photo-switchable stimulated Raman scattering probes with high ...

Ultrabroad-bandwidth multifrequency Raman generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We report on the modeling of transient stimulated rotational Raman scattering in H2 gas. We predict a multifrequency output, spanning a bandwidth greater than the pump frequency, that may be generated without any significant delay with respect to the ...

Stimulated-Raman-Scattering Metrology

open access: yes, 2022
Frequency combs have revolutionized optical frequency metrology, allowing one to determine highly accurate transition frequencies of a wealth of molecular species. Despite a recognized scientific interest, these progresses have only marginally benefited infrared-inactive transitions, due to their inherently weak cross-sections.

Radiation reaction force induced nonlinear mixing of Raman sidebands of an ultra-intense laser pulse in a plasma

open access: yes, 2013
Stimulated Raman scattering of an ultra-intense laser pulse in plasmas is studied by perturbatively including the leading order term of the Landau-Lifshitz radiation reaction force in the equation of motion for plasma electrons.

Multiple Competition Processes Between Stimulated Brillouin and Raman Scattering in a Sulfate Aqueous Solution

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) processes from the aqueous solution of MgSO4 have been observed. The experimental results show that there are three different processes in aqueous solution of sulfate: SBS, SRS ...

Compound Raman microscopy for rapid diagnosis and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of pathogenic bacteria in urine

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Rapid identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) of bacteria are key interventions to curb the spread and emergence of antimicrobial resistance.

Three-dimensional theory of stimulated Raman scattering

open access: yes, 2009
We present a three-dimensional theory of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) or superradiance. In particular we address how the spatial and temporal properties of the generated SRS beam, or Stokes beam, of radiation depends on the spatial properties of ...

Spontaneous and stimulated Raman scattering in long low loss fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
This paper considers the problem of forward Raman scattering process in a single transverse mode fiber. Both pump wave depletion and spontaneous scattering are considered in the analysis.
