Particle packing into loose networks for tough and sticky composite gels

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Hydrogel is an attractive material, but its application is limited due to its low mechanical strength. In this study, a tough composite gel could be prepared by synthesizing polymer particles within a polymer network having relatively loose cross-linking.

An Injectable, Dual Responsive, and Self-Healing Hydrogel Based on Oxidized Sodium Alginate and Hydrazide-Modified Poly(ethyleneglycol)

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Oxidized sodium alginate is a handily modifiable polysaccharide owing to the pendant aldehyde groups which can form dynamic covalent bonds with amines, acylhydrazines, etc., providing oxidized sodium alginate-based hydrogels with stimuli-responsive ...

Designing Stimuli-Responsive Supramolecular Gels by Tuning the Non-Covalent Interactions of the Functional Groups

open access: yesGels
The physical characteristics of a supramolecular gel are greatly influenced by the nature and arrangement of functional groups in the gelator. This work focuses on the impact of the functional groups, specifically the hydroxyl group, on the stimuli ...

Ionoprinted Multi-Responsive Hydrogel Actuators

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
We report multi-responsive and double-folding bilayer hydrogel sheet actuators, whose directional bending response is tuned by modulating the solvent quality and temperature and where locally crosslinked regions, induced by ionoprinting, enable the ...

Stimuli-responsive lipid nanotubes in gel formulations for the delivery of doxorubicin

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2016
Lipid nanotubes (LNTs) are one of the most advantageous structures for drug delivery and targeting. LNTs formed by a specially designed molecule called AQUA (AQ-NH-(CH2)10COOH (AQ: anthraquinone group) is used for drug delivery, and doxorubicin (DOX) is the drug selected.

4D Printing of Multi-Hydrogels Using Direct Ink Writing in a Supporting Viscous Liquid

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
We propose a method to print four-dimensional (4D) stimuli-responsive hydrogel structures with internal gaps. Our 4D structures are fabricated by printing an N-isopropylacrylamide-based stimuli-responsive pre-gel solution (NIPAM-based ink) and an ...
