Stimulus-Response Coding in Four Classes of Stimulus-Response Ensembles
1991Stimulus-Response Coding is treated in the framework of compatibility. A taxonomy is presented based on the dimensional overlap model (Kornblum, Hasbroucq, and Osman, 1990) that includes four different types of S-R ensembles. Some of the literature on human performance with each type of ensemble is reviewed, and new data are presented.
