Analysis of Stirling engine performance
Proceedings of the 24th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 2003A simulation of Stirling engine performance which takes into account the performance of the burner, heat exchanger and drive mechanism is reported. A revised second-order analysis that includes several types of thermal loss is adopted to predict the thermodynamic cycle.

Basic Limitations on the Performance of Stirling Engines
Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2003Abstract The performance of Stirling engines is subject to limitations resulting from power dissipation in the regenerator. The dissipation is caused by pressure gradients in the regenerator required to generate flow. Without this flow the power output would be zero.

Entropy and the Stirling engine
European Journal of PhysicsAbstract The thermodynamic approach developed in the Romanelli (2017 Am. J. Phys. 85 926–31). achieves, among other things, an adequate description of the experimental pressure-volumes diagrams of Stirling engines. However, an unusual and relevant result of such an approach is that, during part of its cycle, the working

LGiSE (Liquid Gas injection Stirling Engine), a new Stirling engine concept
2003The paper presents the latest results of investigation on the effects of lowering the Stirling engine cold-side temperature down to finally 80K. Said effects were successively published in the proceedings of IUC Dubrovnik 1998 [1], 9th ISEC Pilanesburg 1999 [3] and 10th ISEC Osnabrück 2001 [4]. The test bed results obtained at the present time with the
