Time‐Resolved Magnetization Switching Dynamics Driven by Orbital Torques

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Du et al. reveal nanosecond magnetization switching driven by orbital currents using time‐resolved Hall detection. The measurements separate domain nucleation from domain wall propagation and show that Joule heating strongly assists switching by lowering energy barriers.

Controllability of semilinear noninstantaneous impulsive neutral stochastic differential equations via Atangana-Baleanu Caputo fractional derivative

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
This study mainly concerns the controllability of semilinear noninstantaneous impulsive neutral stochastic differential equations via the Atangana-Baleanu (AB) Caputo fractional derivative (FD).

Backward Stochastic PDEs Related to the Utility Maximization Problem [PDF]

open access: yes
We study utility maximization problem for general utility functions using dynamic programming approach. We consider an incomplete financial market model, where the dynamics of asset prices are described by an Rd-valued continuous semimartingale.

Mesoscale Domain Evolution Mechanism during Alternating Current (AC) Poling of Relaxor Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric domain variants that are energetically equivalent are expected to remain preserved during polarization reversal. However, phase‐field simulations reveal that inclined domain walls in relaxor ferroelectrics can undergo irreversible elimination during alternating current poling through a proximity effect driven by long‐range elastic ...

Stochastic Dominance, Entropy and Biodiversity Management [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we develop a model of population dynamics using the Shannon entropy index, a measure of diversity that allows for global and specific population shocks.

Modeling Uncertainty of Iran’s Oil by Mean Reverting Stochastic Process [PDF]

open access: yesPizhūhishnāmah-i Iqtiṣād-i Inirzhī-i Īrān, 2014
Uncertainty is different from risk. When a variable is having uncertainty, as oil prices where unique characteristics are expected, risk analysis can not explain the behavior of that variable.

Single-cell replication profiling to measure stochastic variation in mammalian replication timing

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
While DNA replication is temporally regulated during S-phase, variation in replication timing is not well understood. Here, the authors measure variation in replication timing using DNA copy number in single mouse ESCs and find stochastic variation to be

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...
