Solution of Static Field Problems With Random Domains [PDF]
A method to solve stochastic partial differential equations on random domains consists in using a one-to-one random mapping function which transforms the random domain into a deterministic domain.

A New Stochastic Model Updating Method Based on Improved Cross-Model Cross-Mode Technique
This paper proposes a new stochastic model updating method to update structural models based on the improved cross-model cross-mode (ICMCM) technique. This new method combines the stochastic hybrid perturbation-Galerkin method with the ICMCM method to ...

Stein's Method and Stochastic Orderings [PDF]
A stochastic ordering approach is applied with Stein's method for approximation by the equilibrium distribution of a birth-death process. The usual stochastic order and the more general s -convex orders are discussed.

PRACTICAL STOCHASTIC MODEL FOR CHEMICAL KINETICS
The Practical Stochastic Model is a simple and robust method to describe coupled chemical reactions. The connection between this stochastic method and a deterministic method was initially established to understand how the parameters and variables that ...

Is it possible for a first-order method, i.e., only first derivatives allowed, to be quadratically convergent? For univariate loss functions, the answer is yes -- the Steffensen method avoids second derivatives and is still quadratically convergent like Newton method.

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.
