Stochastic soliton solutions of ion sound and Langmuir wave equation via new extended direct algebraic method with bifurcation and modulation instability analyses [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
This paper investigates the impact of multiplicative noise on the stochastic equations of ion sound and Langmuir waves in the Itô sense. The stochastic soliton solutions of the stochastic equations of the ion sound and Langmuir waves are obtained by ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Impact of Mining Disturbance on Highway Sustainability: A Case Study of Aleksinac Mine Area, Serbia

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Underground coal mining in expansive basins has led to land subsidence, posing significant threats to the aboveground structures and the environment. Addressing this issue is paramount, necessitating accurate and reliable prediction methods.

A stochastic Fubini theorem: BSDE method

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
In this paper, we prove a stochastic Fubini theorem by solving a special backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE, for short) which is different from the existing techniques. As an application, we obtain the well-posedness of a class of BSDEs with

Stochastic average model methods

open access: yesComputational Optimization and Applications
We consider the solution of finite-sum minimization problems, such as those appearing in nonlinear least-squares or general empirical risk minimization problems. We are motivated by problems in which the summand functions are computationally expensive and evaluating all summands on every iteration of an optimization method may be undesirable.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Cancer cell‐intrinsic type 1 interferon: production, signaling, and outcomes within sex‐biased, female malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.
