A Neural Stochastic Volatility Model
In this paper, we show that the recent integration of statistical models with deep recurrent neural networks provides a new way of formulating volatility (the degree of variation of time series) models that have been widely used in time series analysis ...

Generating Cell Surface Nucleated Hydrogels with an Artificial Membrane‐Binding Transglutaminase
Cell‐based therapies require advanced strategies to enhance cell delivery and bioactivity. Cell membrane engineering offers an avenue to impart new functions to delivered cells to boost their viability and function. Here, an artificial membrane‐binding transglutaminase is generated and biophysically characterized.

Single Solid‐State Ion Channels as Potentiometric Nanosensors
Single gold nanopores functionalized with mixed self‐assembled monolayers act as solid‐state ion channels for direct, selective potentiometric sensing of inorganic ions (Ag⁺). The design overcomes key miniaturization barriers of conventional ion‐selective electrodes by combining low resistivity with suppressed loss of active components, enabling robust

A market model for stochastic smile: a conditional density approach [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new approach that allows to construct no-arbitrage market models of for implied volatility surfaces (in other words, stochastic smile models).

Simulation of a particle-laden turbulent channel flow using an improved stochastic Lagrangian model
The purpose of this paper is to examine the Lagrangian stochastic modeling of the fluid velocity seen by inertial particles in a nonhomogeneous turbulent flow. A new Langevin-type model, compatible with the transport equation of the drift velocity in the

In situ TEM uncovers the atomic‐scale mechanisms underlying hydrogen‐driven γ‐Fe2O3→Fe3O4→FeO reduction. In γ‐Fe2O3, oxygen vacancies cluster around intrinsic Fe vacancies, leading to nanopore formation, whereas in Fe3O4, vacancy aggregation is suppressed, preserving a dense structure.

Fatigue Reliability and Calibration of Fatigue Design Factors for Offshore Wind Turbines
Consequences of failure of offshore wind turbines (OWTs) is in general lower than consequences of failure of, e.g., oil & gas platforms. It is reasonable that lower fatigue design factors can be applied for fatigue design of OWTs when compared to ...

Construction and Verification of Performance and Reliability Models [PDF]
Over the last two decades formal methods have been extended towards performance and reliability evaluation. This paper tries to provide a rather intuitive explanation of the basic concepts and features in this area. Instead of striving for mathematical

A W/NbOx/Pt memristor demonstrates the coexistence of volatile, non‐volatile, and threshold switching characteristics. Volatile switching serves as a reservoir computing layer, providing dynamic short‐term processing. Non‐volatile switching, stabilized through ISPVA, improves reliable long‐term readout. Threshold switching operates as a leaky integrate
