Intrinsic noise analyzer:a software package for the exploration of stochastic biochemical kinetics using the system size expansion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The accepted stochastic descriptions of biochemical dynamics under well-mixed conditions are given by the Chemical Master Equation and the Stochastic Simulation Algorithm, which are equivalent.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Simulation-based predicting the position of road tank explosions. Part II: a case study

open access: yesTransport, 2012
A case study describing a simulation-based prediction of geometric characteristics of a road tank accident is presented. The case study evaluates the performance of the accident prediction model proposed in the first part of this study (Vaidogas et al ...

Investigation of Stochastic Fluctuation Spreading Through a Longwall Gob

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Applied Innovations in IT, 2023
We considered a problem of random fluctuation spreading in complex multilayer rock strata during longwall extraction of a coal seam at a great depth.

Advanced Electron Microscopy and Microcomputed Tomography Analysis of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Base Superalloys After Short‐Term Multiaxial Creep

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work studies the anisotropic behavior of circular notched tensile specimens of Ni‐base superalloy single crystals during high‐temperature tensile creep along [001], [110], and [111]. Correlative scale‐bridging imaging of specimens reveals early rupture along [110] because 1) plastic deformation proceeds faster at notch center; 2) more (brittle ...

Simulation and inference algorithms for stochastic biochemical reaction networks: from basic concepts to state-of-the-art [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Society Interface, 2018
Stochasticity is a key characteristic of intracellular processes such as gene regulation and chemical signalling. Therefore, characterizing stochastic effects in biochemical systems is essential to understand the complex dynamics of living things ...

Stochastic simulation of the cure of advanced composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This study focuses on the development of a stochastic simulation methodology to study the effects of cure kinetics uncertainty, in plane fibre misalignment and boundary conditions uncertainty on the cure process of composite materials.

Automated Rare Event Simulation for Stochastic Petri Nets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce a method to automatically apply rare event simulation to stochastic Petri nets, which are often used in the stochastic model checking community to model highly reliable systems.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
