Optimal paths in large deviations of symmetric reflected Brownian motion in the octant

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2013
We study the variational problem that arises from considerationof large deviations for semimartingale reflected Brownian motion (SRBM) in $mathbb{R}^3_+$.

Diffusion models for double-ended queues with renewal arrival processes

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2015
We study a double-ended queue where buyers and sellers arrive to conduct trades. When there is a pair of buyer and seller in the system, they immediately transact a trade and leave.

Stochastic analysis & discrete quantum systems

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We explore the connections between the theories of stochastic analysis and discrete quantum mechanical systems. Naturally these connections include the Feynman-Kac formula, and the Cameron-Martin-Girsanov theorem. More precisely, the notion of the quantum canonical transformation is employed for computing the time propagator, in the case of generic ...

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Nearly periodic behavior in the overloaded G/D/s+GI queue

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2011
Under general conditions, the number of customers in a GI/D/s+GI many-server queue at time t converges to a unique stationary distribution as t → ∞. However, simulations show that the sample paths routinely exhibit nearly periodic behavior over long time

State-independent importance sampling for random walks with regularly varying increments

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2015
We develop importance sampling based efficient simulation techniques for three commonly encountered rare event probabilities associated with random walks having i.i.d.

Establishing a Model Precursor System: Over a Decade of Research on Carbon Dots from the Citric Acid‐Urea System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The citric acid/urea (CA‐Urea) precursor system offers a versatile, scalable route to carbon dots with tunable luminescence and multifunctionality. Mechanistic insights into precursor chemistry and reaction parameters have enabled doping, surface modification, and hybridization strategies, yielding CDs for luminescent devices, sensing, catalysis ...
