All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Many-server queues with customer abandonment: Numerical analysis of their diffusion model

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2013
We use a multidimensional diffusion process to approximate the dynamics of aqueue served by many parallel servers. Waiting customers in this queue may abandonthe system without service.

Waves in a spatial queue

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2017
Envisaging a physical queue of humans, we model a long queue by a continuous-space model in which, when a customer moves forward, they stop a random distance behind the previous customer, but do not move at all if their distance behind the previous ...

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

The missing piece syndrome in peer-to-peer communication

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2011
Typical protocols for peer-to-peer file sharing over the Internet divide files to be shared into pieces. New peers strive to obtain a complete collection of pieces from other peers and from a seed. In this paper we investigate a problem that can occur if

Control of parallel non-observable queues: Asymptotic equivalence and optimality of periodic policies

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2015
We consider a queueing system composed of a dispatcher that routes jobs to a set of non-observable queues working in parallel. In this setting, the fundamental problem is which policy should the dispatcher implement to minimize the stationary mean ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Stability of a Markov-modulated Markov chain, with application to a wireless network governed by two protocols

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2012
We consider a discrete-time Markov chain (Xt, Yt), t = 0,1,2,..., where the X-component forms a Markov chain itself. Assume that (Xt) is Harris-ergodic and consider an auxiliary Markov chain Ŷt whose transition probabilities are the averages of ...
