Stochastic informational systems I

Fundamenta Informaticae, 1977
In the paper the notion of a stochastic informational retrieval system is introduced and discussed. This is a generalization of the notion of an i.s.r. system in the case of data which are measured with some precision. The method of numerical Boolean algebras is applied. Theorems connected with the decomposition of such systems are proved.

Stochastic Computing Systems

1969
The invention of the steam engine in the late eighteenth century made it possible to replace the muscle-power of men and animals by the motive power of machines. The invention of the stored-program digital computer during the second world war made it possible to replace the lower-level mental processes of man, such as arithmetic computation and ...

Stochastic Resonance in Bistable Systems

Physical Review Letters, 1989
The relaxation properties of a stochastic bistable system perturbed by a periodic low-frequency forcing term is investigated by means of analog simulation. The so-called stochastic resonance phenomenon is revealed under diverse experimental conditions. Its dependence on the parameters of both the periodic perturbation and the forced system is explained

THE STOCHASTIC MAGNETO-HYDRODYNAMIC SYSTEM

Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics, 1999
The magneto-hydrodynamic system perturbed by white noise is cast as a stochastic partial differential equation taking values in an appropriate Lusin space. The martingale problem associated with this SPDE is shown to be well-posed under suitable conditions.

Stochastic Graph Transformation Systems

2004
Summary: In distributed and mobile systems with volatile bandwidth and fragile connectivity, non-functional aspects like performance and reliability become more and more important. To formalize, measure, and predict such properties, stochastic methods are required.

WHIRL DECOMPOSITION OF STOCHASTIC SYSTEMS

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1971
Using a technique based on "state splitting" it is shown that every n-state Markov system is decomposable into a whirl interconnection of n−1 two-state Markov systems.
