Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on

Stokes Parameters and Gibbs Bivectors

open access: yesIrish Mathematical Society Bulletin, 1996
Summary: For a single monochromatic wave train, it is shown that the use of Gibbs bivectors leads in a natural and economical way to the introduction of Stokes parameters.

Harnessing the Orientation of Columnar Discotic Liquid Crystals for Narrowband Blue Emission with Enhanced Out‐Coupling Efficiency Toward Improvement of SP‐OLEDs Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed OLEDs containing discotic liquid‐crystalline MR‐TADF emitters are reported. Supramolecular self‐assembly induces homeotropic columnar alignment, enforcing preferential horizontal orientation of the emitter transition dipole moment in spin‐coated films, which leads to an enhancement in the device light outcoupling efficiency while ...

Direct measurement of Stokes orbital parameters

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
The method of direct measurement of the Stokes orbital parameters is based on the analogy with the standard approach to measuring the Stokes polarization parameters of structured beams. A cylindrical lens serves as a quarter-wave plate, and the action of

A fast method for Stokes profile synthesis -- Radiative transfer modeling for ZDI and Stokes profile inversion

open access: yes, 2008
The major challenges for a fully polarized radiative transfer driven approach to Zeeman-Doppler imaging are still the enormous computational requirements.

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

Heat Transfer in a Non-Isothermal Collisionless Turbulent Particle-Laden Flow

open access: yesFluids, 2022
To better understand the role of particle inertia on the heat transfer in the presence of a thermal inhomogeneity, Eulerian–Lagrangian direct numerical simulations (DNSs) have been carried out by using the point–particle model.

Stokes parameters for light scattering from a Faraday-active sphere

open access: yes, 1999
We present an exact calculation for the scattering of light from a single sphere made of Faraday-active material, to first order in the external magnetic field. We use a recent expression for the T-matrix of a Mie scatterer in a magnetic field to compute

Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

Least squares deconvolution of the stellar intensity and polarization spectra

open access: yes, 2010
Least squares deconvolution (LSD) is a powerful method of extracting high-precision average line profiles from the stellar intensity and polarization spectra.
