Stomatal Density of Snapdragon as a Possible Determinant of Transpiration

open access: yesHortScience, 1987
Abstract Ten heat-resistant cultivars of Antirrhinum majus L. (snapdragon) were grown under summer greenhouse conditions. Transpiration was measured in relation to leaf area and stomatal density. Stomatal density did not correlate with daily transpiration.

Drought Risk in Mango and Avocado Orchards: Insights Into Plant Water Relations and Irrigation‐Related Agronomic Solutions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

Anatomical variations in stomatal attributes of selected species of family Asteraceae

open access: yesCommunications in Plant Sciences, 2016
In order to document stomatal characters which are significant in taxonomy, a detailed microscopic study on leaf epidermis of the selected taxa from Asteraceae was carried out. The plant species were Sonchus oleraceus, Bidens bipinnata, Centaurea iberica,

Stomatal density and distribution in different cassava genotypes

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Agricultural Research, 2015
This study aimed to establish the anatomical characteristics, and to determine the density, size and distribution of stomata in the abaxial surface of leaves of different cassava genotypes. The apical, middle and basal portions of fully expanded leaves of genotypes Baianinha, Caapora, Fecula Branca, IAC 12, IAC 13, IAC 14, IAC 15, IAC 576, IAC 90 and ...

Morpho‐Anatomical and HPTLC Investigations of Lysimachia nummularia L. (Primulaceae) Grown in Switzerland

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
This research provides a complete morphoanatomical description of Lysimachia nummularia, as well as a HPTLC profile. Standard techniques of light and scanning electron microscopies, as well as standard techniques of HPTLC, were used. ABSTRACT Primulaceae are distributed all over the world, encompassing around 2590 species.

Characterization of stomatal density and size of different vitis vinifera L. cultivars growing in Mediterranean climate conditions [PDF]

open access: yesCiência e Técnica Vitivinícola
The stomatal traits of 13 red and white grapevine cultivars of Vitis vinifera L. established in a cultivar collection garden in central Chile were characterized in this study. The cultivars examined were ‘Cabernet Franc’, ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’, ‘Carmenere’

Studies on the variability of stomatal density in soybean cultivars. II. Influence of restrictions of soil moisture and light intensity on stomatal density.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1985
The influences of soil moisture and light intensity on stomatal density (number of stomata per unit of surface area of epidermis, SD) in soybean cultivars were examined by water stress- and light shading-tests. The influences were also investigated by dividing SD into the two components, (1) the power of stomatal differentiation (Ratio of stomatal ...

Evaluating Reference Evapotranspiration (ETo) Calculation Methods and Quantifying Climate‐Driven Change in Irrigation Demand Across Nepal's Terai

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Framework illustrating the comparison of different reference evapotranspiration (ETo) estimation methods and the integration of baseline ETo, crop water requirement (CWR), and irrigation water requirement (IWR) calculations with downscaled CMIP6 climate projections under SSP245 and SSP585 scenarios for the mid‐century and late‐century periods across ...

Upper and small bowel Crohn's disease in Brazilian children: Phenotypic characteristic and surgical risk

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Upper and small bowel Crohn's disease (U‐SBCD) represents a clinically aggressive phenotype with high complication rates yet remains diagnostically challenging. In low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs), limited inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) awareness contributes to diagnostic delays, but their impact on U‐SBCD outcomes remains

Differential roles of EPF-like peptides in stomatal patterning and drought tolerance via GhERECTA1-mediated signaling in cotton

open access: yesPlant Stress
Precise regulation of stomatal development is essential for optimizing water use efficiency and drought adaptation in crops. EPIDERMAL PATTERNING FACTOR (EPF) and EPF-LIKE (EPFL) peptides are well-established regulators of stomatal patterning in model ...
