Improving the Patient Experience in Pediatric Cystometrography: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cystometrography, despite its invasive nature, is a crucial investigation for understanding and managing the bladder in children with neurogenic, non‐neurogenic and congenital bladder conditions. Results are influenced by child behaviors and artefacts, but results can be critical in developing patient‐specific management plans ...

Exploring the disease burden and quality of life in patients with short bowel syndrome with intestinal failure: Insights from exit interviews in the glepaglutide EASE SBS‐1 phase 3 trial

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background A randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial was conducted to evaluate efficacy and safety of glepaglutide in patients who have short bowel syndrome with intestinal failure (SBS‐IF). At the end of the trial, exit interviews were conducted to explore participants' experiences and to assess the impact of the disease and ...

Traffict Density Affects Stomatal Character of Tanjung Plant (Mimusops elengi, L.) in Mataram City

open access: yes, 2021
Increase in traffic density increases air pollution. Air pollution affects plant life physiologically, for the long run it could be morfologically, one of whichs is the stomatal characters.

Bioindicator Potential of Calatropis procera and Azadirachta indica Leaf Epidermal Traits for Monitoring Cement Dust Pollution

open access: yesThe Bioscientist
Airborne particulate pollution from cement industries represents a significant environmental stressor, adversely affecting plant physiology and altering leaf epidermal traits that serve as reliable biomarkers of pollution impact. This study investigated

Review of nutrition management of pediatric intestinal pseudo‐obstruction

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic intestinal pseudo‐obstruction (CIPO) is a rare, heterogeneous, and debilitating disorder characterized by profound intestinal dysmotility and severe nutrition challenges. Its presentation resembles that of mechanical bowel obstruction, but CIPO occurs in the absence of luminal obstruction.

Taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia (Acanthaceae) in India

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
A taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia in India was undertaken through extensive field surveys and critical examination of herbarium specimens. Three taxa, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina subsp. marina, and Avicennia officinalis, are described in detail. A synonymic list was compiled using the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP)

The hunt for Scabiosa trenta Hacq: how the pursuit of a phantom ignited a passion for botany and mountaineering

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Scabiosa trenta Hacq. was first described in 1782 by Balthasar Hacquet, with its specific epithet referring to the Trenta Valley in Slovenia. Since then, S. trenta has been the focus of numerous mountaineering and botanical expeditions, particularly by the alpinist Julius Kugy during the Golden Age of Alpinism, a period in the second half of 19th ...

A transient protoplast expression system for functional gene validation in sugarcane: Focus on drought response and immune pathways

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
We developed a transient expression system for sugarcane using Guitang 42 culm, suitable for various assays such as GCaMP6‐based calcium imaging. This system revealed that ScNCED3 acts as an early drought response signal, positively regulated by ScPYL4‐12, ScOST1‐12, and ScMPK6‐11.
