Late Oligocene atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations reconstructed from fossil leaves using stomatal index

open access: yesJournal of Palaeosciences, 2023
Ancient atmospheric CO2 can be reconstructed using various climate proxies; stomata from fossil leaves are one of the climate proxies that provide critical information about past climatic conditions of the Earth. Exceptionally well–preserved fossil leaves found in overbank deposits in Chilga of Northwest Ethiopia were used to estimate late Oligocene ...

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Enhancing Surgical Efficiency and Cost‐Effectiveness With TaTME‐Combined Robot‐Assisted Surgery for Lower Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Robot‐assisted rectal surgery (RAS) offers improved dexterity and visualization; however, the high cost of equipment and consumables remains a major challenge for hospital management. At our institution, we have adopted a combined approach using transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) for lower rectal cancers, aiming to shorten ...

Biometry of stomata in Blechnum species (Blechnaceae) with some taxonomic and ecological implications for the ferns

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2011
Morphological stomatal traits, such as size, form and frequency, have been subject of much literature, including their relationships with environmental factors. However, little effort have focused on ferns, and very few in the genus Blechnum.
