Inițiere șamanică și alchimie magică într-un basm popular românesc / SHAMANIC INITIATION AND MAGICAL ALCHEMY IN A ROMANIAN FOLK TALE [PDF]

open access: yesIncursiuni în imaginar, 2019
As a species of folk literature, the Romanian fairy tale is a narrative writing with a recuperating character of the archaic background of magical-religious beliefs and pre-Christian rites. The soteriological function specific to the "saying" of the myth

The Dedekind reals in abstract Stone duality [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Structures in Computer Science, 2009
Abstract Stone Duality (ASD) is a direct axiomatisation of general topology, in contrast to the traditional and all other contemporary approaches, which rely on a prior notion of discrete set, type or object of a topos.ASD reconciles mathematical and computational viewpoints, providing an inherently computable calculus that does not sacrifice key ...

Variable-basis Categorically-algebraic Dualities

open access: yesFuzzy Information and Engineering, 2014
The manuscript continues our study on developing a categorically-algebraic (catalg) analogue of the theory of natural dualities of D. Clark and B. Davey, which provides a machinery for obtaining topological representations of algebraic structures.

Controlled double-slit electron diffraction

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
Double-slit diffraction is a corner stone of quantum mechanics. It illustrates key features of quantum mechanics: interference and the particle-wave duality of matter. In 1965, Richard Feynman presented a thought experiment to show these features.

The Limitations of Duality

open access: yesFeminist Philosophy Quarterly, 2023
The attempt to rearticulate traditional conceptions of nature can be both a useful strategy and a stumbling block when it comes to feminist examinations of the continuity between the objectification of women’s bodies and the domination of nature.

The projectable hull of an archimedean $ell$-group with weak unit [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications, 2017
The much-studied projectable hull of an $ell$-group $Gleq pG$ is an essential extension, so that, in the case that $G$ is  archimedean with weak unit, ``$Gin {bf W}$", we have for the Yosida representation spaces a ``covering map" $YG leftarrow YpG$.

Stone Duality for Monads

open access: yesCoRR
We introduce a contravariant idempotent adjunction between (i) the category of ranked monads on $\mathsf{Set}$; and (ii) the category of internal categories and internal retrofunctors in the category of locales. The left adjoint takes a monad $T$-viewed as a notion of computation, following Moggi-to its localic behaviour category $\mathsf{LB}T$.

Stone duality and Gleason covers through de Vries duality

open access: yes, 2010
We introduce zero-dimensional de Vries algebras and show that the category of zero-dimensional de Vries algebras is dually equivalent to the category of Stone spaces. This shows that Stone duality can be obtained as a particular case of de Vries duality.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
