A novel technique to infer ionic charge states of solar energetic particles [PDF]
In some large solar energetic particle (SEP) events, the intensities of higher energy SEPs decay more rapidly than at lower energies. This energy dependence varies with particle species, as would be expected if the decay timescale depended on a rigidity ...

Shear mechanism and shear strength component characteristics of soil-stone mixtures
In order to study the shear mechanism and shear strength component characteristics of soil-rock mixtures, seven groups of graded soil-stone materials are prepared, covering three typical cases of good gradation, uniform particle size and missing ...

Characteristics of the Termination Shock: Insights from Voyager [PDF]
We examine the energy spectra obtained from the cosmic ray instrument on the Voyager 1 spacecraft during 2002/215 through 2005/60. We find that the energy spectra of protons below ~20 MeV often resemble two power laws with a relatively hard index at low ...

Lead Removal from Water Solutions Using Alginate-Immobilized Peach Stone Particles
This study explores the use of waste biomass from the aquatic plant Myriophyllum spicatum as a biosorbent for removing heavy metals—lead, copper, and cadmium—from aqueous solutions. The biomass was immobilized in alginate beads (Ms:alginate = 2:1) to produce the biosorbent MsA, which was characterized using SEM–EDX and FT-IR analyses.
