Multiclass Non-Randomized Spectral–Spatial Active Learning for Hyperspectral Image Classification
Active Learning (AL) for Hyperspectral Image Classification (HSIC) has been extensively studied. However, the traditional AL methods do not consider randomness among the existing and new samples. Secondly, very limited AL research has been carried out on

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Stopping criteria for iterative decoding based on mutual information [PDF]
In this paper we investigate stopping criteria for iterative decoding from a mutual information perspective. We introduce new iteration stopping rules based on an approximation of the mutual information between encoded bits and decoder soft output. The first type stopping rule sets a threshold value directly on the approximated mutual information for ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

A Comparison of Ballistic Resistance Testing Techniques in the Department of Defense
Ballistic resistance testing is conducted in the Department of Defense (DoD) to estimate the probability that a projectile will perforate the armor of a system under test.

An Analysis of Stopping and Filtering Criteria for Rule Learning [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate the properties of commonly used pre-pruning heuristics for rule learning by visualizing them in PN-space. PN-space is a variant of ROC-space, which is particularly suited for visualizing the behavior of rule learning and its heuristics.

Gradient estimation for smooth stopping criteria
AbstractWe establish sufficient conditions for differentiability of the expected cost collected over a discrete-time Markov chain until it enters a given set. The parameter with respect to which differentiability is analysed may simultaneously affect the Markov chain and the set defining the stopping criterion.

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.
