Selecting stopping muons with KM3NeT/ORCA
International audienceThe KM3NeT collaboration operates two water Cherenkov neutrino telescopes in the Mediterranean sea, ORCA and ARCA. The flux of atmospheric muons produced in cosmic ray air showers forms a background to the main objectives of KM3NeT ...

This work studies the anisotropic behavior of circular notched tensile specimens of Ni‐base superalloy single crystals during high‐temperature tensile creep along [001], [110], and [111]. Correlative scale‐bridging imaging of specimens reveals early rupture along [110] because 1) plastic deformation proceeds faster at notch center; 2) more (brittle ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Sight distance analyses in road design process: Serbian practice
New Serbian policies on road design introduce the concept of operating speeds. Decades ago, national policies were based on the constant design speed concept.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Analysis of vehicle braking behaviour and distance stopping
Generally Vehicles show some degree of instability during braking as there are no real vehicles that are completely symmetrical. Especially when there is a component malfunction. There are many reasons for this incident: e.g. Failure of kinematic brake function, asymmetric mass distribution or brake imbalance.

Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Stopping Sight Distance and Available Sight Distance: New Model and Reliability Analysis Comparison
Stopping sight distance (SSD) is an important design criterion used in the geometry of highways and streets. Design guidance implies that SSD is used to ensure safety along the roadway.

Robust Active Contour Model Guided by Local Binary Pattern Stopping Function
Edge based active contour models are adequate to some extent in segmenting images with intensity inhomogeneity but often fail when applied to images with poorly defined or noisy boundaries.
