Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Rheological Comparison of Silicone Rubber Crosslinking with Platinum Catalysts and Triethylamine, Methanol & Ethanolamine Solvents

open access: yesIranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
The control of silicone rubber’s viscoelastic properties namely loss factor, storage and loss moduli during crosslinking are crucial as its malleable behaviour changes differently under different conditions and affecting the final product.

On‐Demand Activation of Thin Alginate Shell Encapsulated Volatile Liquid for Untethered Pneumatic Soft Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐changing liquids enable untethered pneumatic actuation in soft robotics but suffer from volatility and storage challenges. This work reports a simple method to encapsulate Novec 7000 within micron‐thin alginate shells via in situ injection and ionic crosslinking.

Storage Modulus of Poly(vinyl alcohol) Gels Loaded with Polyelectrolyte Particles

open access: yese-Polymers, 2007
AbstractWe have investigated the viscoelastic properties of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) gels loaded with a polyelectrolyte particle of poly(styrene-co-sodium styrene sulfonate) to find the effect of electric charges on the storage modulus of the gel. The storage modulus decreased with increasing volume fraction of particles, and it was independent of the

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
