Efficacy of insecticides for control of stored-product psocids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A series of experiments were carried out between 2007 and 2009 to test the efficacy of selected insecticides against several stored-product psocids. Three series of experiments were conducted against Liposcelis spp.

Chitin‐Derived Carbon‐Metal Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Functional carbon materials are synthesized from combination of biopolymer (chitin) and iron precursors. The resultant material exhibits superior surface area and adsorptive properties compared to carbon materials synthesized directly from pure chitin.

Farm2Fork through the lens of community ecology: concepts and applications in postharvest storage

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, 2023
The environment in which postharvest crops are processed and stored is a dynamic ecosystem influenced not only by environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, but also by biotic influences such as humans and insects. Abiotic influences such as

Study on the insecticidal activity compounds of the essential oil from Syzygium aromaticum against stored grain insect pests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Insect pests are a major cause of damage in stored grain around the world. To control the stored grain insects, synthetic insecticides have been used extensively for many years, resulting in insect populations that are resistant to insecticides ...

Microfluidic Nano‐Assembly of Red‐Blood‐Cell (RBC) Lipids and Components for Engineering Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered red blood cell‐derived extracellular vesicles (eRBCEVs) are synthesized via controlled microfluidic assembly from native RBC lipids, enabling tunable encapsulation of proteins, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and viral vectors. The platform demonstrates reproducible nanoscale architecture, preserved membrane composition, and functional cargo ...

Overview of undesirable effects of using diatomaceous earths for direct mixing with grains [PDF]

open access: yesPesticidi i Fitomedicina, 2016
Despite numerous advantages of diatomaceous earth (DE), its use for direct mixing with grains to control stored-product insects remains limited because of some very serious obstacles and disadvantages. The main obstacles preventing a wider use of DEs for

Comparison of mandible morphology of two stored product bostrichid beetles, Rhyzopertha dominica and Prostephanus truncatus: Poster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Insect mandibles are most frequently encountered fragments in processed foods. Thanks to their sclerotised and darkly pigmented nature, they usually remain intact in foods and are relatively easily detectable.
