NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Foldout includes foreshortening in drawings by a blind man
In a case-history, Ben, a university-graduate blind adult, is shown to draw a cube as if it were folded out, but with slim rectangles for the sides around a central square. This form is drawn by sighted 8-year-olds.

Straight-line drawing algorithms for hierarchical graphs and clustered graphs [PDF]
Hierarchical graphs and clustered graphs are useful nonclassical graph models for structured relational information. Hierarchical graphs are graphs with layering structures; clustered graphs are graphs with recursive clustering structures. Both have applications in CASE tools, software visualization, VLSI design, etc.

Evolution‐guided yeast complementation reveals functional differences in human PSPH variants
Ancient genomes can help guide which human genetic variants are tested experimentally. This study applies that idea to PSPH, a gene involved in serine biosynthesis, and uses high‐throughput yeast complementation to compare variant function. The findings reveal measurable differences among selected alleles and illustrate the value of evolution‐guided ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Morphing Planar Graph Drawings with Bent Edges
We give an algorithm to morph between two planar drawings of a graph, preserving planarity, but allowing edges to bend during the course of the morph. The morph is polynomial size and discrete: it uses a polynomial number of elementary steps, where each ...

Transversal Structures on Triangulations, with Application to Straight-Line Drawing [PDF]
We define and investigate a structure called transversal edge-partition related to triangulations without non empty triangles, which is equivalent to the regular edge labeling discovered by Kant and He. We study other properties of this structure and show that it gives rise to a new straight-line drawing algorithm for triangulations without non empty ...

ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.
