Design and Simulation of Meshing Performance of Modified Straight Bevel Gears

open access: yesMetals, 2020
As key components to transmit power and motion between intersecting shafts, it is necessary to design feasible tooth axial modification to improve the meshing performance and bearing capacity of straight bevel gears.

Normal vector based generation of straight bevel gears tooth surfaces

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2017
Tooth surface generation and design of bevel gears is a challenging and multi-choice problem.A normal vector based method is established to describe the geometries of tooth surfaces of straight bevel gears. The normal vector of the tooth surfaces is ...

Study on Transmission Error of Straight Bevel Gears.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 2002
In a bevel gear, unlike a cylindrical gear, two gears shafts cross, and one of the shafts is basically a cantilever. Therefore, bevel gears are easily influenced by deflections of the gear shafts and bearings. These have a significant influence on transmission error, which produces vibration and noise.

Dynamic Behavior of Straight Bevel Gear : 2nd Report, Vibration of Bevel Gears on Rectangular-Coordinate

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1980
Using an inductance type vibrometer for shaft, the displacement of bevel gears is measured on a rectangular-coordinate, and the results are discussed. The results are as follows : The displacements of three directions perpendicularly intersecting each other are influenced by the bending stiffness of gear shaft and the stiffness of bearings.

Three-Dimensional Measurement for Straight Bevel Gear.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1998
A method for inspecting the machine settings for straight bevel gear cutting is proposed. The bevel gear is generated by a newly introduced "quasi-complementary crown gear" instead of a conventional complementary crown gear. A tooth bearing of a pair of generated gears is theoretically desirable.

Investigation of a novel elastic-mechanical wheel transmission under light duty conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A novel 'Elastic Engagement and Friction Coupled' (EEFC) mechanical transmission has been proposed recently in which the power is transmitted through elastic tines on the surfaces of the driving and driven wheels.

The Modification Design of Involute Straight Bevel Gear

open access: yesIERI Procedia, 2012
AbstractBecause of the impact of installation error, manufacturing error and elastic deformation and thermal deformation and other factors, the straight bevel gear pair will appear serious phenomenon of meshing interference and impact and uneven load in meshing process, so it is necessary to design suitable modification tooth to improve gear pair's ...

Solutions for contact problems applied to bevel gears [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The article presents solutions to flat contact problems applied to straight-tooth bevel gears, considering both linear and nonlinear dependencies between elastic displacements of the teeth and the resulting stresses.
