Development of a sampling method for the simultaneous monitoring of straight-chain alkanes, straight-chain saturated carbonyl compounds and monoterpenes in remote areas

Journal of Environmental Monitoring, 2011
Studies have shown that biogenic compounds, long chain secondary compounds and long lifetime anthropogenic compounds are involved in the formation of organic aerosols in both polluted areas and remote places. This work aims at developing an active sampling method to monitor these compounds (i.e.

Paths and Chains of Random Straight-Line Segments

Technometrics, 1966
Classical problems associated with paths composed of straight line segments with independent orientations, which have a continuous distribution, are discussed. Moment formulas are obtained for the distance between initial and terminal points, and a new approximation discussed.

Molecular orbital theory on straight chain conjugate polymers

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1991
Abstract The symmetry group composed of the equivalence of repeated units in a straight chain conjugate polymer is explored and applied to analysing the special solutions of the difference equation which stands for the Huckel molecular orbital (HMO) eigen equation of the polymer.

Non-bonded oxygen-oxygen interactions in straight-chain compounds

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1969
Abstract Enthalpies of combustion and vaporization at 25.0 °C have been measured for some saturated, straight-chain oxa-compounds. Enthalpies of formation at 25.0 °C have been derived for the compounds in the liquid and gaseous states. The results are: ΔH f o (l)/kJ mol −1 ΔH f o (g)/kJ mol −1 ...

A dynamic model for locally stiff straight chain polymers

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1985
The influence of intramolecular interactions of the type: U=U(bn, cn, bṅ cn) on the dynamic properties of a polymer chain in dilute solution was determined by introducing into the ‘‘hopping model’’ described by Jones et al., the dynamic nonequivalence of bonds for a linear homopolymer chain.

The Dielectric Properties of Systems Containing Straight Polar Chains

Australian Journal of Scientific Research Series A: Physical Sciences, 1952
A mathematical derivation is given of the dielectric properties of systems containing straight polar chains such that to each value of the total moment of a chain there corresponds only one arrangement of its dipoles. If the moments of the individual dipoles and the probability of an elementary transition are fixed, both the total dielectric loss and ...
