Two-state shear diagrams for complex fluids in shear flow [PDF]
The possible "phase diagrams'' for shear-induced phase transitions between two phases are collected. We consider shear-thickening and shear-thinning fluids, under conditions of both common strain rate and common stress in the two phases, and present the ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Mechanical behavior of HTCE propellant: Dependence on strain rate and temperature
High-solid-content polymer composites such as solid propellants are widely used in different fields. Although the proportion of polymer components in the material is relatively low, the mechanical influence of polymers on composite materials is crucial ...

We have studied changes in charge-density-wave strain under application of square-wave currents of variable amplitude and frequency by numerically solving the phase-slip augmented diffusion model introduced by Adelman et al (Phys. Rev. B 53, 1833 (1996)).

On probabilistic aspects in the dynamic degradation of ductile materials [PDF]
Dynamic loadings produce high stress waves leading to the spallation of ductile materials such as aluminum, copper, magnesium or tantalum. The main mechanism used herein to explain the change of the number of cavities with the stress rate is nucleation ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Strain in epitaxial CoSi2 films on Si (111) and inference for pseudomorphic growth [PDF]
The perpendicular x-ray strain of epitaxial CoSi2 films grown on Si(111) substrates at ~600 °C was measured at temperatures from 24 up to 650 °C. At 600 °C, the perpendicular x-ray strain is –0.86%, which is about the x-ray strain that a stress-free ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Effect of high strain rate on micro-indentation test in pure aluminum
The indentation properties of pure aluminum (99.9%, 3N aluminum) and high purity aluminum (99.999%, 5N aluminum) with respect to the strain rate dependence of strength are experimentally investigated in order to clarify the effect of strain rate on the ...
