The described equivalence postulate was confirmed experimentally by examining physiological responses as well as discomfort sensation in a series of predicted equivalent conditions during exercise (congruent to 3 met). ET or the equivalent Ta at 50% RH is a single independent variable that is uniquely related to the mean skin temperature (Tsk), skin ...

An anisotropic damage constitutive model for concrete is developed within the framework of elastoplasticity and continuum damage mechanics. The transformation from the effective (undamaged) to the damaged configuration in the elastic regime is obtained by using the hypothesis of elastic strain energy equivalence.

Abstract For conical indentation, the strain energy is a function of the semi-vertical cone angle, the indentation depth and the stress-strain relation. According to equivalent energy principle of representative volume elements (RVE) and the classical cavity assumption for material deformation region, the function with dual-parameters about volume ...

ABSTRACTIn the case of a rounded notch, the stress and strain at the notch tip can be determined by the traditional Neuber rule or by the Equivalent Strain Energy Density (ESED) approach, as formulated by Glinka and Molski. In the latter case the elastoplastic strain energy density at the notch tip is thought of as coincident with that determined under
