Anisotropic Stark Effect and Electric-Field Noise Suppression for Phosphorus Donor Qubits in Silicon
We report the use of novel, capacitively terminated coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators to measure the quadratic Stark shift of phosphorus donor qubits in Si. We confirm that valley repopulation leads to an anisotropic spin-orbit Stark shift depending on

Strain field measurement around the crack tip in Ni-base superalloy using Digital Image Correlation
Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method was applied to measure the strain fields around the crack tip in a Ni-base single crystal superalloy. DIC systems were assembled to appropriately measure the strain fields at room temperature, 700°C and 900°C ...

A Hybrid Stress Plane Element with Strain Field [PDF]
In this paper, a plane quadrilateral element with rotational degrees of freedom is developed. Present formulation is based on a hybrid functional with independent boundary displacement and internal optimum strain field.

Insulated-gate field-effect transistor strain sensor [PDF]
Strain sensors that can be switched on and off were fabricated from p-channel IGFET on thin filament n-type silicon crystals with silicon dioxide layer sputtered over transistor for passivation.

The lattice strain and domain switching behaviour was investigated as a function of cyclic field and grain orientation for a pseudorhombohedral composition of the high Curie point piezoelectric system xBiScO3 - (1-x)PbTiO3 (x = 0.40) by in-situ electric ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Strain fields of Ms >6.0 earthquakes in Menyuan, Qinghai, China
In predicting earthquakes, it is a major challenge to capture the time factor and spatial isoline anomalies, and understand their physical processes, of the seismic strain field before a strong earthquake. In this study, the seismic strain field was used

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Spatio-temporal dynamics of an active, polar, viscoelastic ring
Constitutive equations for a one-dimensional, active, polar, viscoelastic liquid are derived by treating the strain field as a slow hydrodynamic variable.
