From strain to stress using full-field data: Computationally efficient stress reconstruction

Materials Research Proceedings
Abstract. Conventional stress reconstruction based on full-field strain measurements presents a major computational burden, especially when using standard implicit stress integration methods. This presents a notable challenge for inverse identification methods used to characterize the plasticity of metallic materials, particularly those reliant on ...

Local Stress-Field Reconstruction Around Holes in a Plate Using Strain Monitoring Data and Stress Function

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2018
This study reconstructs a two-dimensional stress field from measured strain data. The advantage of using stress functions is that the stress equilibrium and strain compatibility are automatically satisfied. We use the complex stress functions given by the finite series of polynomials.

Accurate Reconstruction of High-Gradient Strain Field in Digital Image Correlation: A Local Hermite Scheme

Conference Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Mechanics Series, 2018
High-gradient strain field measurement is attracting more attention from both engineering and scientific domains, where digital image correlation (DIC) is widely adopted to recover the dramatically changing displacement fields of stressed samples. Accurate reconstruction of reliable strain field from noisy displacement field is one of the key issues ...

Strain/Displacement Field Reconstruction and Load Identification of High-Speed Train Load-Bearing Structure Based on Linear Superposition Method

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2022
Real-time online reconstruction of strain/ displacement fields of critical load-bearing structures of high-speed trains (such as crossbeams and bogies) has been a challenging task because the complexity of load and geometry of load-bearing structures not
