Plane strain stress intensity factors for branched cracks

International Journal of Fracture, 1977
A method of calculating stress intensity factors for branched and bent cracks embedded in an infinite body has been developed. The branches are always assumed to be sharp cracks and are modelled by dislocation distributions. The original crack may be either sharp or of elliptical cross-section with finite root radius.

The Strain Rate Intensity Factor and its Applications: A Review

Materials Science Forum, 2009
The present paper concerns with the concept of the strain rate intensity factor in rigid plastic solids. The strain rate intensity factor is the coefficient of the principal singular term in the expansion of the equivalent strain rate in a series in the vicinity of maximum friction surfaces.
