Effect of strain rate on the electroplastic effect in Nb

It has been found that the application of a high density electric current pulse during the plastic deformation of metals produces an enhancement of the deformation rate in addition to that caused by the side effects of the current such as Joule heating and the magnetic pinch effect. Effect of Strain Rate on Tensile Strength and Strain of Surgical Suture Materials

The present work demonstrates the influence of the strain rate on the mechanical characteristics of Prolene and Ethilon loops. The testing of the loops was performed on a materials testing machine and complete load deformation curves were recorded. Various mechanical parameters were calculated and analysed by computer.
