A New Embedded Full Strain Components Sensor [PDF]
International audienceA new concept of strain (or stress) tensor sensor is presented. Fully embedded in the structure, it measures the full 3D strain tensor while suppressing its own influence, i.e allowing to find the strain (or stress) that would exist

Analysis of Treacher Collins syndrome 4‐associated mutations in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Fission yeast models carrying Treacher Collins syndrome type 4‐associated mutations reveal that impaired processivity of RNA polymerase I leads to defective rRNA transcription. This study highlights the essential role of a conserved arginine residue in Pol I elongation and provides mechanistic insight into the pathogenesis of ribosomopathies.

Thermal expansion in nanoresonators
Inspired by some recent experiments and numerical works related to nanoresonators, we perform classical molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the thermal expansion and the ability of the device to act as a strain sensor assisted by thermally ...

We established a spheroid coculture system enabling viable Porphyromonas gingivalis–HNSCC interactions under normoxic conditions. Inhibition of LATS1/2 maintains tumor cells in an undifferentiated state, which may promote spheroid growth and create a more permissive environment for bacterial persistence.

A Wireless Strain Sensor Network for Structural Health Monitoring
Structural strain under external environmental loads is one of the main monitoring parameters in structural health monitoring or dynamic tests. This paper presents a wireless strain sensor network (WSSN) design for monitoring structural dynamic strain ...

KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Design and Verification of a High-Precision Wireless Strength Testing Node for Aircraft Structure
Wireless sensor network provides a good solution for the state monitoring of large-scale structures. Compared to traditional approaches, it can greatly reduce the amount of devices wiring and the weight of the monitoring system.

We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.
