The Strange Prospects for Astrophysics
The implications of the formation of strange quark matter in neutron stars and in core-collapse supernovae is discussed with special emphasis on the possibility of having a strong first order QCD phase transition at high baryon densities.

Mechanistic Insights into the Surface Instabilities of TiNb2O7, a High‐Power Li‐Ion Anode
TiNb2O7 is an attractive anode for Li‐ion batteries, particularly when safety is of the highest concern. However, despite operating at high potentials, electrolyte degradation is a major concern. It is demonstrated that throughout the entire charge‐discharge cycle a number of surface reactions occur which both produce gas and result in Ti dissolution ...

Converting neutron stars into strange stars [PDF]
If strange matter is formed in the interior of a neutron star, it will convert the entire neutron star into a strange star. The proposed mechanisms are reviewed for strange matter seeding and the possible strange matter contamination of neutron star ...

Gravitational Wave Emission from Close-in Strange Quark Planets Around Strange Stars with Magnetic Interactions [PDF]
According to the strange quark matter hypothesis, strange planets may exist, which are planetary mass objects composed of almost equal numbers of up, down and strange quarks. A strange planet can revolve around its host strange star in a very close-in orbit.

Soft ULC Microgels at the Interface Interact and Flow as Hertzian‐Like Colloids
Monolayers of soft ULC microgels, studied combining interfacial rheology, AFM and computer simulations, exhibit isoelastic points. At these points, the measured stiffness of the monolayer remains constant despite large differences in particle concentration.

Strange Quark Matter in a Strong Magnetic Field
Thermodynamic properties of strange quark matter are considered in strong magnetic fields up to 1020 G. It is shown that the appearance of the longitudinal (along the magnetic field) instability beyond some critical magnetic field precludes the formation

Porphyrin derivatives are introduced for electron beams and extreme ultraviolet lithography. The lithographic performance of the novel CuTP‐4Epoxy photoresist is excellent, with a resolution of 18 nm in EBL and 20 nm in EUVL, and the photoresist also exhibits high etch resistance.

A method for probing the formation of quark matter
Based on a multi-phase transport model for relativistic heavy-ion collisions, effects of the parton scatterings on the production of strangeness in relativistic heavy-ion collisions are studied.

The Neodymium(III) macrocyclic complex [NdL(CF3SO3)3] serves as a non‐contact, bifunctional sensor for temperature and pressure, displaying field‐induced Single Molecule Magnet (SMM) behavior. At 3 GPa, triflate rotations halt, triggering a disorder‐order phase transition from centrosymmetric phase α to noncentrosymmetric high‐pressure phase β.

Extreme Terahertz Nonlinearity of AlGaN/GaN‐Based Grating‐Gate Plasmonic Crystals
Plasmonic crystals based on grating‐gated 2D electron gas in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures provide a platform for strong light‐matter interaction. Pump‐probe experiments revealed strong terahertz nonlinearity leading to 45% increase in transmission at a fluence below 350 nJ cm−2.
